The McMichael Volunteer Committee is a dedicated team of McMichael members, from all walks of life, who share a passion for the arts and are committed to volunteerism. Binder Twine Festival Committee

Kleinburg's annual Binder Twine Festival originally began in the late 1800's when Charlie Shaw, proprietor of Shaw's Hardware Store in Kleinburg, held an annual evening of food and entertainment for his Binder Twine customers. Revived as a centennial project in 1967 by local volunteers (including Vic Ryder and Pierre Berton), the annual festival involves over 600 volunteers and over 25,000 visitors. MORE...

The BIA is a Volunteer group of local merchants working towards maintaining a thriving business core. They organize and run events such as the annual Christmas Tree lighting at the Klein House, PumpkinFest, ArtWalk, Spring Fling, and this summer's Farmer's Market. On payment of a one-time fee (currently $10) membership in KARA is open to all persons, aged 18 or more, who reside south of Vaughan’s boundary with King, east of York Region’s boundary with Peel, north of Rutherford Road (west of Highway 27) and of Major Mackenzie Drive (east of Highway 27), and west of Pine Valley Drive. CHATS--Community Home Assistance to Seniors is a local non-profit organization that provides support and programs for seniors to enable them to continue to live independently. We currently have seniors in the Vaughan/Nobleton area on waiting lists for our Seniors Outreach Visiting Program as well as our Transportation Program due to a lack of volunteers.
